Compared to other colors, the black sealing ring is more resistant to dirt, and the thoughtful design ensures it lasts longer than ordinary sealing rings.

Our 09985 Sealing Ring is compatible with a variety of Presto pressure canner models, including 0174510 (16 qt), 0175107 (18 qt), 0175510 (16 qt), 0178107 (23 qt), 0178209 (23 qt), and 0178410 (23 qt). This sealing ring fits around the inside rim of the pressure canner cover, forming a secure pressure-tight seal between the cover and the body of the pressure cooker during canning and cooking.

To install the 09985 Sealing Ring, first remove the old sealing ring and overpressure plug, then thoroughly clean the sealing ring groove and overpressure plug hole. Next, install the cleaned sealing ring by working it into the cover a small section at a time until it is fully in place. To install the overpressure plug, push the round side of the rubber plug (marked "TOP") into the opening from the underside of the cover. Finally, open and close the cover several times to ensure it operates more freely.
